We are pleased to announce our 7th Diversity in Action College Tour. This year’s tour will begin with a visit to our nation’s Historical Black Colleges & Universities in celebration of Black History Month. These storied institutions have nurtured, educated and prepared our past, present and future leaders.. We will also visit California’s UC Riverside, a Hispanic Serving Institution and one of the most ethnically diverse research universities in the country. Join us as we bring hope and empowerment to the next generation of diverse talent looking too launch a career in the media, entertainment and communication industry.

Tour Specifics:

  • Industry/Faculty Reception – Our Industry Partners receive the unparalleled opportunity to share their commitment to diversity as well as forge professional relationships with college deans, department chairs and professors, educating them about their current and future recruitment needs. During this time topics like preferred academic coursework and skill sets necessary for the 21st Century work environment are discussed.

  • The LEVERAGING UP! Workshop – This one-of-a-kind industry specific workshop is taught by Stacy Milner, author, lecturer and former executive assistant to both NBC & Paramount Chairmen. Students are equipped with the essentials skills necessary to “hit the ground running.” This strategic hands-on training and educational setting provide students with the terminology, tools and knowledge to stand-out and succeed in entry level opportunities and beyond. The result is a higher conversion rate of students from intern to employee.

  • Industry Expert Panel – An intimate entertainment career forum where students of traditional industry majors such as Television and Film, Mass Media and Communication together with a broader major reach in areas of Finance, Technology, Business, Engineering etc. will interface with our partner representatives. Exposing students to the variety and complexity of job opportunities and career options that make up the infrastructure of the industry. The panel will serve to demystify the belief that only students with a so called traditional industry degree can have a successful and rewarding career in the industry.

  • Entertainment Career Forum – This will be an interactive recruiting opportunity for our partners to bring internships and employment opportunities to this culturally and ethnically diverse talent pool. Students attend and learn the, “who, what, when, where and how” behind applying for internships, co-ops, jobs and special diversity programs throughout the industry.
